When our daughters were here visiting for Chinese New Year, we went to the Shanghai Zoo to see the Expo Pandas.
The Chinese have brought 10 juvenile pandas, 6 females & 4 males, all about 1 1/2 years old, to Shanghai for the the Expo 2010. All of these pandas were born at the Panda Research Center in Sichuan after the devastating earthquake.
These pandas were a riot to watch! They run around, chase each other, wrestle, climb up the equipment, and lay around and munch bamboo. They were very active! Full adult pandas mostly eat and sleep…so these ten “babies” were a real treat!
It was a pleasure to be with all the Chinese people at the zoo, all laughing, smiling, and enjoying the pandas, along with us.
We returned again to the Shanghai Zoo this weekend to see these ten furry balls of fun. They are at the zoo until June 26, then they move to Shanghai Wildlife Park for the last six months of the year. Then they will probably return to Chengdu, Sichuan, and the Panda Research Center where they all came from. We hope you get a smile out of the pictures.
